Welcome back to Greece! Today we were welcomed to Athens by clear blue skies and 35C temperature. We decided to start our day by heading to the Acropolis. We made it to the top in a sweaty mess and were greeted with a stunning 360 view of the city and old ancient structures.
I remember only snippets of my trip to Athens when I was 12 years old. My auntie used to live here and she showed us all around then. We also visited in the winter, so it was a very different experience altogether.
As we headed back down from the Acropolis, we made it to the shopping district. We walked through the flea market, discovered all the olive oil products and baklava and also made it through to the more mainstream shopping area.
We didn’t really have a busy day, it was nice that we didn’t have to rush from one tourist attraction to the other. We wanted to visit the parliament and the park and where the soldiers pace outside the… But we didn’t have so much time. I am lucky enough to have seen this before and I dug up more old photos you can laugh at.
All in all, Athens was another great experience, however I must say I don’t think I could ever live here. There are waaaaaaay too many cute, stray dogs all over the streets and the probability of me becoming a crazy dog lady would be too high! 😉
