Road trip’n Switzerland
The trip around Lucerne Lake is a must. The views from each angle is incredible. The trip began in Lucerne and followed through to Engelberg, where on a previous blog I visited Mount Titlis.
The next stop was Altdorf in the canton of Uri. This is the home of the William Tell statue. I learnt the story of William Tell later on during my journey. William Tell is a folk hero of Switzerland.
We continued to drive alone the scenic route of the lake, avoiding many tunnels and seeing the structures above attempting to protect the roads from falling rocks.
The next stop was Brunnen, which is a beautiful photo taking location. I snapped a few of the gorgeous lake and surrounding Alps. I’m not a photographer, but it seems every photo I take turns out amazing!
An ice-cream stop was next on the agenda. We stopped at Flora Alpina Hotel in Vitznau. This view was my favourite on this route.
The perfect blue sky and the sparkling water together was a sight to see!
Finally, as we came round nearly completing a full circle, we stopped by in Küsnacht where I finally learnt about the story of William Tell and the Hohle Gasse. At this location there is an interactive presentation which leads you through the legend of Tell and how he had to shoot a bow through an apple on his sons head.
