Welcome to Meggen

Yesterday afternoon I arrived in Meggen, Switzerland, and was greeted by my dear friend Tony! The last time I visited was over 4 years ago, and as much as I thought I wouldn’t forget how beautiful Switzerland and the Swiss Alps were, I did. I didn’t realise until seeing them again, how breathtaking, unbelievable and enchanting the views really are.

For dinner, Tony had made a reservation for us at ‘Hermitage’ restaurant. There we had a lovely view over Lucerne Lake and the surrounding Alps, while enjoying a scrumptious meal! It was incredible.

We walked to dinner, so on the way we bypassed Meggenhorn Castle. Meggenhorn Castle is of new gothic design and is surrounded by vine yards.

There is a little Chapel next to the Castle, where many weddings are held.

The view from here is simply beyond words and the pictures I have taken do not capture the beautiful reality.

I don’t think I ever want to leave Switzerland. Each destination I travel to seems to be more and more beautiful, and so far I have definitely fallen head over heels for this country.
